Advantages of Owning a Hybrid Vehicle

Tax Breaks and Rebates

Making the decision to buy a hybrid vehicle over a traditional gas engine only vehicle is the first step. Many people still have the pre-concived notion that a Hybrid is more expensive than a gas powered car.

When you take a look at the initial cost of the car and take into consideration that by buying a Hybrid you are able to get a tax break on the 'higher cost' of the vehicle, it's well worth considering more so.

Take a look at our pages 'Hybrid Incentives' and the case study on our page 'Hybrid vs Gasoline'.

The first page will show you the incentives the Government are giving people as well as many corporations that help you purchase a Hybrid vehicle. In many cases, there is a lot of money at stake to suggest you consider a Hybrid over a Gas powered vehicle. Many people are taking this option because of this.

Hybrid vs Gasoline is an interesting case study and puts a very good advantage forward to driving cleaner rather than polluting with traditional Gas engines.

Many people still don't like the styling of the Hybrid cars, namely the Toyota Prius, as it's look is very 'futuristic'. Another objection to Hybrids are the skinny tyres.

However, more and more manufacturers are producing Hybrid cars in a range to suit most tastes and more importantly, more pockets.

It'll be a while until motor manufacturers provide hybrid technology in a 'Muscle Car', however, it's not going to be long until models are offered.

Future models that have been announced to go on sale in 2007 and 2008 are:

BMW 1 Series - Luxury Compact; Mazda Tribute; Chevrolet Tahoe; GMC Yukon; Dodge Durango; Toyota Kluger/Highlander; Audi Q7; Cadillac Escalade; Chevrolet Equinox (SUV), Malibu (Midsize) and Silverado (Truck); Ford Fusion; GMC Sierra; Mercury Milan; Toyota Sienna & the New 2009 model Prius ; Volvo C30.

2009 will also see offerings from the three most prolific German manufacturers. Mercedes Benz with thier S Class, Porsche's Cayenne will adopt Hybrid Technology as will Volkswagen with their flagship SUV, the Touareg.

The Environment

Of course, the biggest concern at the moment is the Environment. If we keep going the way we always have, gas prices will continue to soar, rainforests will continue to diminish, rising tides will erode our coastlines and the air we breathe will be even more contaminated with carbon dioxide.

We must open our eyes to the environment because although we may not be around to see the changes we make to the World now, our Children, our Grandchildren and future generations will all suffer the effects of what we have contributed to the World and our atmosphere.

The time to do something about it is NOW. The World will not wait, it will continue to suffer the ill effects of our damage, pollution, etc.

Imagine a World where the only evidence of an elephant can be seen only on TV, Polar Bears will not live because the Ice Cap is melting, a World in which we live underground for 6 months out of the year because it's too hot to venture out doors.

This is what we and our future generations are moving towards, unless we do something about what we and our ancestors have done to this planet.

You can make a difference. maybe one person isn't going to save all the rainforests, but one person will contribute and if a thousand more take up the reins, it will make our World a better place to live. One person DOES make a difference.

Be 'The Joneses' and lead by example! Everybody likes to 'keep up with the Joneses', therefore, if you do the right thing, how many followers will you have?
